When they started in 2000, there were only 5 people. Today, Tabassum Children’s Musical Theater has thousands of dance enthusiasts. The Azerbaijani national team already visited us during the 9th edition of the festival. The team then won the Golden Boat. 

14 Folk Inspirations is another festival “station” on this year’s Polish tour of Bangladeshi dancers, where they present the beautiful colors of South Asia. Bhongima Dance Theatre was founded in 2005 by choreographer Syeda Saila Ahmed.

Kokle Group Balti is one of the most popular kokleist groups in Latvia and another guest of our festival. The band from the Babit region will present various arrangements of folk songs and dance melodies taken from the ancient culture of the Balt people. 

Compagnie Culturelle MOTEMA is another band that will appear on the international stage of 14 Folk Inspirations. The dozen-strong African representation was established in 2004 in Kinshasa. The group will come to us straight from Paris, which is its second home.

Dance, music, art and fashion inspired by the cultures of various nations will fill places loved by Lodz residents and tourists in just a month. Concerts, performances and a multicultural fair are just some of the attractions awaiting us during this year’s folk festival in Lodz.
